Sadie Jay grew up in a small town in Southern Illinois but was always more interested in the rows of books at the library than the rows of corn filling the fields surrounding her. At the age of 18, one of her goals was to write the Great American Novel, but as so often happens, that dream went by the wayside and was replaced by a husband, a couple of kids, a small menagerie of pets, and an unplanned career as a grocer and a home baker.

In 2013 Sadie discovered positive queer stories, both in fanfiction and book form, and started writing again. Since 2015, she’s been quietly publishing stories about relationships that are sometimes messy but always end with a happy-ever-after. She's pansexual and aromantic, and many of her characters reflect that.
