2024 GRL Retreat & Registration Information
If you are a fan of LGBT romance, GRL is the one gathering that you simply cannot miss. Our annual event balances fun, variety, and affordability in a package that hundreds of people have called the best romance conference they’ve ever attended.

Do you need to register?
If you wish to have access to any GRL events, you must register as either a general attendee or one of the author tiers.
IMPORTANT 2024 CHANGE: Book Signings are no longer open to the public.
Start/End Date
The 2024 retreat begins on Wednesday, SEPTEMBER 4 and ends on Saturday, SEPTEMBER 7.
(we will conclude the retreat with our annual Saturday night Costume Party)
Retreat Schedule Overview
Below is a planned list of events. *schedule/times may vary; final schedule is posted closer to the retreat event*
We kick off the retreat on Wednesday with a few ice-breaker games and gatherings. Stay tuned for more information.
Author Lounges and Author Spotlights run, simultaneously, during the day on both Thursday and Friday. Evenings are reserved for social events and meet ups.
Signings start early Saturday and run through the afternoon. The signings will be broken up into groups to ensure attendees have plenty of time to visit all authors. We end the evening with our annual Costume Party that wraps up before midnight.

Reader/General Registration Fee: $275

At GRL, everything is about the reader experience. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet your favorite registered authors and likely add a few new faves, but you will also make connections with other LGBT romance lovers and leave knowing you've made a few more friends.
We offer TWO Author Registration tiers:
- Author
- Spotlight Author
Please review both sets of tier requirements to see which is a better fit. If you wish to attend as an author, we encourage you to register early since slots sell out quickly.

(We will no longer offer Build-Your-Own panels as a spotlight option.)
AUTHOR Registration Fee: $325
REQUIREMENTS:
- Authors must have a minimum of ONE (1) published LGBT romance work at the time of registration.
- Work must be of novella length (25k) or longer. This does not include "free reads" or stories included in an anthology.
PACKAGE BENEFITS:
- Listed as a registered “Author” on our website with an accompanying author profile.
- Recognized as an author at the retreat with an official “GRL Author” lanyard.
- Recognized as a registered “Author” in our event guides.
- Participation in the SATURDAY book signing.
- Opportunity to reserve ONE (1) Author Lounge session.
- Access to purchase additional promotional extras to feature your brand.
SPOTLIGHT AUTHOR Registration Fee: $375
This registration tier grants you the same Author package benefits PLUS ONE (1) Spotlight session which you share with other Spotlight Authors.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Authors must have a minimum of THREE (3) published LGBT romance work at the time of registration.
- Work must be of novella length (25k) or longer. This does not include "free reads" or stories included in an anthology.
PACKAGE BENEFITS:
- Listed on our website with a Spotlight Author designation and an accompanying author profile.
- Recognized as an author at the retreat with an official "GRL Spotlight Author" lanyard.
- Recognized as a registered Spotlight Author in our event guides.
- Receive ONE (1) guaranteed seat on an author spotlight Q&A panel.
- Participation in the SATURDAY book signing.
- Opportunity to reserve ONE (1) Author Lounge session.
- Access to purchase additional promotional extras to feature your brand.
SPOTLIGHT AUTHOR REGISTRATION PAGE
What are the Author Events?
There are 3 primary author events.
- Spotlight Panels: Only authors registered under the Spotlight Author tier will have ONE (1) seat on a Spotlight panel. Each panel is hosted by four (4) Spotlight Authors. For 2024, all panels will be themed Q&As. The hosting authors sit at the front of the room and answer audience questions during a moderated session.
- Author Lounges: Ice-breaker/meet-and-greet events. Each session is a short window of time with a mix of authors in a room, each with table space.
- Author Signings: The roster of authors will be divided into equal groups and each group will have a signing session lasting (approximately) 1½ hours. Signings will begin in the morning and the last group signing will conclude in the afternoon. Each author receives a full table and two chairs for their signing space.
Schedule format:
On Thursday and Friday, TWO (2) Spotlight sessions run simultaneously while our Author Lounge is open. This gives our attendees a choice in selecting which event they wish to attend. On Saturday, we have the book signings.
Author Registration Commitments:
When you register as an author, you are committing to attending certain events. Author Lounge sessions are optional, but the following events are required for each tier:
Spotlight Authors are required to attend:

Author Waitlist
If you are unable to secure an author spot, we encourage you to add your name to the waitlist. The WAITLIST is a single form (for both Spotlight Author & Author spots) and will open after one of the author tiers are sold out.
How to register...
Your spot is not secured until you complete the entire registration process. (Select your registration tier, complete payment, and receive order confirmation.)
** Only ONE registration is permitted per account/email.**
An order confirmation will be emailed to you once your order is completed. If you're logged in, you can view your orders by clicking "My Account" in the upper right hand side of the site and then switching over to the "Orders" tab.
GRL Refund Policy
Should you need to cancel your GRL registration, a full refund is available until May 1, 2024. After this date, no refunds, of any amounts, for any reason, can be made. This policy is necessary because we must pay numerous vendors in advance. Unfortunately, we cannot make exceptions to this policy.
Registration Transfer Policy
Registrations cannot be transferred from one person to another.
